Hey lovelies, if you guys did not already know this about me but, I am half Spanish and half white. My father and mother are both fluent speakers in Spanish. My father comes from Nicaragua, in Central America. It is kinda funny how my parents met. They met in Massachusetts and my mother was teaching English to Spanish speakers and my mom was actually my dads teacher, and still till this day she is a teacher. I mainly grew up speaking both English and Spanish mixed or as I like to call it, spanglish. I was always the little translator growing up for my dad, so I had to process what he was saying in Spanish and translate that into English or the other way around. Yes, sometimes I did not know how to translate what he was saying or what other people were saying to him, but I would always try my hardest to try and make him or the other person understand. My dad also has three other children in Nicaragua. I have two half brothers and one half sister. I have met them all and they were so nice and protective and caring of me when I went to Nicaragua a couple years ago in the summer to meet family. Yes, I take great pride in being a strong Latina. Being Latina that means that I kinda also have a fiery side to me that I am not scared to bring out and show when it is the right time. Yes, I also do have to admit that I have been stereotyped before and called a chonga, but honestly go ahead and call me names, I do not care I know who I am, and I am very proud. I love the Spanish culture and how diverse and interesting it is. Tambien la comida de Nicaragua y la cultura espanola es genial! Amo mi tortilla y arroz y frijoles. All in all I think it is very important to take pride and joy in your culture and wherever you come from. Adios, te amo!!
